Jody gets on the scoreboard!

So, congrats to my boy, Jody, for his first ever WSOP cash. He busted 198th, but cashed. Pokernews got the hand wrong that busted him, but whatever. Roland de Wolfe limped in, Jody shoved the nuts (ie. J7o) and Roland calls w/ AKo and it holds un-improved. But still, a great day for him. Glad he got it and glad I was there for it.

Afterwards, he, myself, and his brother, Jeremy, (who is here for the week) all played some more $2/$5. For the 2nd time this week, between the 3 of us, we had a +$3k day (me w/ +$1700). Good times.

I'm sick w/ a cold, but still managing to put in hands/hours, since the games are so ridiculously soft right now.

That's all I got for today. I'm sick, and tired, but seperately...but I just read something that had me in stitches for about 4 minutes. I laughed so hard and for so long, my sides still hurt:

from mydrunktexts.com comes this gem:

"(703): (rec'd): fucking a dude (rec'd 1 min later): i mean: fucking a, dude (sent): wow, that comma made all the difference there"

Tears :)

Slow 'n low

So I haven't written in a long time. I just got tired of telling the world all about me. I dunno, whatever.

So I'm still playing poker and I'm still grinding away, although it's been really tough, at times. The only other thing that I would rather be doing is running/cooking/owning my own restaurant, but for those that know me, that's nothing new. But, all things considered, I'm really happy, still.

Anyway, having a good time during the WSOP this year and beating the cash games for a good bit. Also, my best friend, Jody (Fidodell to 2p2'ers), is getting dangerously close to going deep in today's $1500 event. Gogogogogogo Jody!

Speaking of which, someone posted this and I it really struck me as, well, damn good motivation. Maybe it will help someone else too?

I've really learned that day-to-day results really don't matter one bit...it's all about the long-term and the correct decisions. I mean, I've known this all along, but KNOWING it and not just saying you know it, I've learned, are two very, very different things. I've learned that slow 'n low, (ie. the tortoise, not the hare) wins the race. Life's is easier now that I understand that.
